It seems to be a summer of weddings and babies where I have found myself pondering what to write in the cards. As I began to jot down thoughts, a consistent thread ran thru that can be applied not only to marriage and raising kids, but our work life and life in general.
- Be consistent, caring and present
- Remember, others are not programed with your expectations and may not share your perspective
- Pick your battles – you can win the battles and lose the war
- Take a “time out” when YOU need one – Step back
- “Secure your own mask first before assisting others” – if we are always putting the needs of others or the deadlines first we will not have the strength to take care of ourselves
- Enjoy every minute, recognizing the lessons in the challenges as well as the successes, life goes by too fast
- It is the relationships we build and the people that matter; family, friends, co-workers or clients. Find the time and the energy to be fully engaged
