Most of us have heard the phrase “the only constant is change” and this is so very clear as we look back at our lives. Change is so difficult for most of us; we have our routines, our comfort zones, our habits and staying with what we know is easier. For many of us change can bring up fears; fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of losing control. Or maybe you just don’t see the point.
Change can be such a good thing, it pulls us out of our comfort zones, provides a new perspective, we learn new skills, maybe meet new people, it teaches us to flow.
We have change as we grow – physically, mentally, emotionally, as we move away from home, get a job, take on responsibilities, have relationships, get a new job, take on bigger responsibilities, maybe have kids, pets, lose loved ones and retire.
In the business world, companies both small and large are shifting how they do business to be out front, or maybe just to keep up, to acquire and keep top talent or to incorporate the fast changes in technology.
As you reflect on the changes in your life, personally and professionally, and the growth that came from these changes, lean into future changes as opportunities to expand the dimensions of who you are.
