Here we are at the start of another year. Are you are thinking about your New Year’s resolutions or changes you want to make for the coming year? As I was going through some old notes, I found this Dalai Lama list I thought was interesting:
The Dalai Lama’s INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIFE.
- When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
- Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
- Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
- Spend some time alone every day.
- Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
- Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
- Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.
- Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
- Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
- Be gentle with the earth.
It got me thinking about my own guidelines I try to live my life by
- Have a Vision, personally and professionally, to guide you
- Stand grounded in your values, and not just when it’s easy
- Participate in creating the culture you live in, this includes the environment and the people
- Take responsibility for your life – make it great
- Be Intentional, Be present
- Be Kind to yourself, to others and to the earth we share
- Go inside yourself; explore, forgive, heal, nurture, celebrate and love the unique soul you are
- Take time to enjoy the people in your life
- Notice the beauty, appreciate and be thankful for life – ALL OF IT
- FLOW
If you took a few minutes, as we moved into 2020, what would yours be?
