Happy New Year 2020

Here we are at the start of another year. Are you are thinking about your New Year’s resolutions or changes you want to make for the coming year? As I was going through some old notes, I found this Dalai Lama list I thought was interesting:

The Dalai Lama’s INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIFE.

  • When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
  • Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
  • Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
  • Spend some time alone every day.
  • Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
  • Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
  • Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.
  • Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
  • Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
  • Be gentle with the earth.

It got me thinking about my own guidelines I try to live my life by

  • Have a Vision, personally and professionally, to guide you
  • Stand grounded in your values, and not just when it’s easy
  • Participate in creating the culture you live in, this includes the environment and the people
  • Take responsibility for your life – make it great
  • Be Intentional, Be present
  • Be Kind to yourself, to others and to the earth we share
  • Go inside yourself; explore, forgive, heal, nurture, celebrate and love the unique soul you are
  • Take time to enjoy the people in your life
  • Notice the beauty, appreciate and be thankful for life – ALL OF IT
  • FLOW

If you took a few minutes, as we moved into 2020, what would yours be?
